Fields in objects are the building blocks of Salesforce CRM. You can create any custom object or field that you want. Yes, the power of Salesforce is that you get to build your own playing field. In fact, 70% of all fields in Salesforce analyzed by Hubbl are custom. Since the average Salesforce has >6800 fields, that’s an average of>4700 custom fields per org.

Most teams are getting help building their playing field with objects and fields from installed packages. These packages often add namespace prefixes on the code to help you identify where it came from. Many packages are also managed, meaning your team must rely on the app publishers' metadata quality to power your AI. Choose who builds your playing field carefully. Unfortunately, 69% of custom fields have no description on average. This is important because poor metadata definition & governance reduces the accuracy and relevance of AI-generated text.

Mike Bogan

In the Salesforce ecosystem for >11 years, Mike Bogan was the first presales/solution engineer at Traction On Demand. Working with over 600 customers, he helped grow Traction from 20-1500 employees before its acquisition by Salesforce in 2022. Since then, as Chief Strategy Officer at Hubbl Technologies, Mike has been building the machine learning platform that powers a new paradigm of trusted engagements between Salesforce customers, partners and Salesforce themselves. Having worked with 1000+ Salesforce customers and partners across all industries, Mike has had the opportunity to influence Salesforce customer success from many angles. Prior to joining the Salesforce ecosystem, Mike spent ~10 years in the U.S. Department of Energy as a Staff Scientist at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and SLAC National Laboratory/Stanford University and was involved in AI and machine learning projects over 20 years ago.
